How to use Brick Link...This may be a bit overwhelming to do, but I found a way (probably not the best) to use the Brick Link To order parts. This list here describes how to run the brick store application and create a wanted list to submit to BrickLink:
At this point you should be able to find the correct lego set. The window closes as the main window populates with a table list of all the parts. Before doing this last step look at the brick link list and get that ready. At this point the wanted list of parts is ready to be copied! At this point you should have all the parts needed and ready to go. The idea is to upload the wanted parts to brick link. These steps below cover how to do this:
Follow instructions to register, and give yourself a l/p that you can remember for later use If you are not logged in yet submit your l/p on this screen You have now submitted all the wanted parts to the wanted list. Going back to the Wanted menu, you can click on My Wanted List hyperlink to see all the items currently on your wanted list. There is a Show All hyperlink to show each part followed by all the stores which can sell. You may wish to filter stores to only those located in USA by clicking the change hyperlink. One of the things I noticed right away is that by default all parts request for New, which is good, but some parts may no longer be made, and as a result may either be very expensive (e.g. $15), or not even shown as available. Fortunately you can change the New requirement to N/A, and most likely you will find used parts for a great price. You can submit these as changes to only the parts which need it, and it will keep those saved for you. This is the point where I have left off. There are several ways, and other views you can try as I did stats to see which store could sell the most parts. Realistically I was looking at probably 10 different stores to gather all the parts needed. I have not yet perfected how to order the parts in a way where it is easy to keep track, but I started opening a new tab for each store that I needed parts for as I went down the list. I tried picking the best price as I went. I am not sure if there is an easier way, but I could have started the process and checked out with the parts I needed. Hopefully this will be enough information to get you started! |
